Will Shop Circulate be the new Black Wall Street?

Nearing the 100th anniversary of the Tulsa Race Massacre that destroyed the original Black Wall Street, Green-Wood, the black community is met with 2 major culture-defining events; Juneteenth being declared a national holiday & Sean Combs (aka Diddy) partnering with Salesforce to announce the launch of their new platform “Shop Circulate”.

The goal is to essentially inherit the spirit of Green-Wood and provide an environment for black entrepreneurship to not only thrive but to strengthen the black community with an influx of revenue and resources.

The market is currently saturated with black-owned businesses looking to increase their profitability so this announcement comes at a very opportune moment in time. Sites like “webuyblack.com” & “shopkatika.com” have been working within the last decade to create similar marketplaces for the growing black-owned business demographic but none have emerged so far with the name recognition, resources, and network that Diddy commands and has access to. Only time will tell what Shop Circulate will become but at this time, what it represents, seems promising.

Will Shop Circulate become a dangerously close cousin of Amazon. I personally would love to see it. Ultimately, the fate of Shop Circulate falls on us, the shoppers.

SHOP CIRCULATE is slated for release in the fall of 2021.
